The incident took place in Hartford County around 6:30 a.m., Sunday, June 18 at 10 Martin Circle in East Hartford.
East Hartford officers were dispatched to the home on a check welfare call for service, said Officer Marc Caruso, of the East Hartford Police.
Upon entering, police located a woman identified as 51-year-old, Andra Elizabeth Valcinor, of East Hartford, who was unresponsive, and pronounced dead on scene by paramedics, Caruso said.
"The female was a victim of multiple stab wounds which caused fatal injuries," Caruso said.
Investigators and detectives have been working around the clock collecting physical evidence and pursuing leads. The investigation remains very active.
An arrest has not been made in this case as of yet, however, there is no immediate threat to the public, Caruso said.
